Is my dryer vent line clogged?
Here are some obvious signs that you need dryer vent cleaning.
- Your clothes are taking longer to dry.
This is the sign that makes most customers contact us. Clothes that used to dry with just one cycle are taking two or even three cycles to dry. - Your clothes are very hot at the end of a cycle.
Hotter than normal temperatures mean that heat is not escaping through the vent. - Your drier has started to get much hotter to the touch while operating.
Again, another sign that heat is not able to escape through the vent line. - Your vent has not been cleaned in three or more years.
It doesn’t take long for lint to build up in your system. Especially true if you do a lot of laundry or have pets and the accompanying pet hair.
How will you clean my dryer vent?
Dryer vent cleaning is a fairly quick process with the proper equipment. Here is what you can expect.
- We will move your dryer out in order to gain access to the vent.
- A vacuum is connected to the dryer vent line using a special Y adaptor.
- We feed a rotating brush through the Y adaptor and into your dryer duct. The rotating brush dislodges lint and debris and it is simultaneously removed with the vacuum.
- We clean up any lint that has fallen out of the vent and reconnect your dryer.
99% of the time we do not need to access your roof and can clean the entire vent system from the inside of your home. In some cases, we may need to access your roof to clean the vent, a small additional charge may apply. Not responsible for preexisting damage to ducts or poor installation.
